LABIS, 30 DECEMBER, 2010: Johor Angkatan Muda Keadilan (AMK) chief, Zabidie Abas told Malaysian Digest at least 500 AMK Johor members will be lending their support to Pakatan Rakyat’s machinery in the upcoming Tenang by-election.

According to Zabidie, the Pakatan youth wing will be launched on the January 1 and the work program will be implemented jointly with PAS Youth and DAP Youth.

“Our (AMK) machinery is well set for this by-election. AMK Johor will prepare at least 500 members to help the campaign but I think more members will voluntarily come and help,” Zabidie told Malaysian Digest.

“AMK will consolidate joint programs with DAP and PAS youth in the name of Pakatan. This is an opportunity for Pakatan in Johor to assess our collaboration before we face the next General Election (GE),” he added.

The Tenang seat fell vacant following the death of assemblyman Datuk Sulaiman Taha.

Sulaiman retained the Tenang seat in the 2008 general election by defeating PAS candidate Mohd Saim Siran with a majority of 2,492 votes.
